CVI Research Description:
I am a pediatric cardiologist at CHOP and my expertise lies in congenital heart disease. I am the Director of Cardiac MR at CHOP. I do all the cardiac MRs along with attending in the echo lab.
My research interests are in ventricular function and blood flow in congenital heart disease. I am also interested in promoting and developing new non-invasive imaging techniques, specifically in the realm of cardiac MR and echocardiography. I have recently published a textbook on ventricular function and blood flow in congenital heart disease (Blackwell Futura)
I was on the Medical Imaging Drugs Advisory Committee of the FDA and am now a special government employee and advise the FDA on imaging issues. I am on the CHOP IRB. I spent 3 years at Wyeth Ayerst Research in clinical drug development, developing cardiovascular drugs for HTN and CHF.
I am on the Editorial Board for the Society of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance, am on the 2007 Scientific Sessions Committee and am a Co-Chair of the ACC Spotlight on Imaging Sessions in 2007.
