Description of CVI Expertise

CVI Program Unit(s):
Cardiovascular Development / Congenital Heart Disease
Pulmonary Vascular Disease

CVI Research Description:
For over the past 20 years I have devoted my career to the care of patients with pulmonary vascular disease. I am a Professor of Medicine in the Pulmonary Allergy and Critical Care Division, and I am the Director of the Pulmonary Vascular Disease Program (currently based at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center). I have extensive experience in the diagnosis and management of pulmonary vascular disease, having had dozens if not hundreds of patients on each of the available therapeutic agents, and having had input into the development of most of them. I am currently a member of the Adult Congenital Heart Disease Program, and see patients from that program who have pulmonary hypertension.
