Description of Research Expertise

Neuronal autoantibodies, encephalitis, acquired neuromyotonia (Isaacs' syndrome), peripheral nerve hyperexcitability, potassium channels, the glycine receptor, the GABA-B receptor, neuromuscular disorders, stiff person syndrome.

Description of Itmat Expertise

I am interested in autoimmunity to brain and peripheral nerve proteins. I treat patients with autoimmune disorders in my clinic and try to figure out how their autoimmune diseases work in my lab.
