About Clinical Research
Clinical research is medical research that involves people who volunteer to participate in carefully conducted investigations that uncover better ways to treat, prevent, diagnose, and understand human disease. Clinical research includes trials that test new treatments and therapies as well as long–term natural history studies, which provide valuable information about how disease and health progress (NIH Clinical Trials Research and You).
The Clinical Research @ Penn website aims to provide information, resources, guidance and support for various audiences at the University of Pennsylvania and external collaborators. Faculty, clinical research staff such as clinical research coordinators, healthcare industry partners, patients and their families all form our audience. Our goal, through this website and its resources, is to promote human research for the advancement of healthcare while ensuring the highest level of research participant safety and facilitating the highest quality research.
