Description of Research Expertise

I am a physician-scientist with board certification in anesthesiology and critical care medicine who has been committed to the advancement of patient safety for more than fifteen years. My research agenda is centered on the use of implementation science to advance health equity, high-quality health care, and population health. I employ principles from implementation science and human factors engineering, including qualitative and mixed methods, to promote the uptake and effective use of evidence-based practices. As a research mentor, I work with undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate students, fellows, and early stage faculty to build their capacity to conduct impactful, paradigm-shifting health services research.
