Description of Research Expertise

our team studies how early-life intestinal host-environment interactions, especially those involving the immune system, diet, and microbiota, occur under normal conditions and how disturbances in these processes can contribute to intestinal inflammatory conditions like necrotizing enterocolitis and inflammatory bowel disease and systemic inflammatory diseases such as obesity.
