Requests of Applications and Renewals

Requests for applications are distributed by email to CBI trainers.

NIH Chemistry-Biology Interface Fellowship Application Requirements

  1. A letter from the advisor, nominating the candidate and describing the thesis project and its appropriateness for CBI support.
  2. Active and pending grant support for the advisor.
  3. Past and present training record of advisor (list of all pre-docs for the past 10 years, training period, current source of support if still in the lab, and current position if no longer in the lab).
  4. A letter from the trainee stating his/her interest in working on the project, interest in work at the chemistry-biology interface, and describing his/her qualifications for CBI support.
  5. The applicant’s CV and list of publications.
  6. Two letters of recommendation for the applicant.
  7. Graduate Record Exam (GRE) scores of the applicant.
  8. Undergraduate transcripts, and graduate school transcripts of the applicant.
  9. Proof of U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Residence status.

NIH Chemistry-Biology Interface Fellowship Renewal Requirements

  1. The PI needs to submit a letter nominating the student for renewal on the training grant and typically indicates why the student is appropriate for continued support on the training grant, what the student accomplished the last year and what the student hopes to accomplish in the coming year.
  2. The student needs to provide an updated CV and a one-page research summary including what was accomplished and proposed studies for the next year.
