Sheppard Lab
Research
In the THINK lab we strive to better understand aspects of NK cell biology so we may derive optimal therapeutics for cancer. This includes activating and expanding NK cells using novel methods, and solving the long-standing issue with cryopreservation that has limited the field.
We also seek to understand which are the most important NK cell checkpoints in various disease contexts so we can solve these via gene editing and other approaches.
Separately the THINK lab works designs new CARs and transgene expression systems for both CAR-T and NK cells, and is interested in combination therapies of CAR-NK, CAR-T, and armed oncolytic viruses, or similar agents.
