After the symposium, we will organize two journal issues/sections on metabolic imaging/spectroscopy in the Journal of Biomedical Optics and Molecular Imaging and Biology to which you may contribute manuscripts. The manuscripts are due August 15, 2018, and the publication dates are expected to be in early 2019.

Functions: Blood flow, volume, oxygenation
Metabolism (1): Glycolysis and hypoxia
Metabolism (2): Mitochondrial metabolism, redox state, NADH/FAD
Metabolism (3): Others/general
Muscle and other organs
Aging and neurodegenerative diseases
Sessions will included invited presentations and proffered talks selected from abstracts. Minority, women, and junior investigators will be given priority under equal circumstances.
PANEL: Key issues in metabolic imaging / spectroscopy research
GRANT WRITING WORKSHOP AND BIOSTATISTICS SESSION
FLASH TALK OF POSTERS (~2 min each)
Britton Chance Symposium Travel Stipend (10-20 students and junior investigators)
We will provide a number of travel stipends (covering up to ~80% of the full cost for attending the conference) and poster awards for selected abstracts. After the Symposium, we will also organize 2 peer-reviewed journal issues on metabolic imaging/spectroscopy, i.e., Journal of Biomedical Optics and Molecular Imaging and Biology to which you may contribute manuscripts. The publication dates are expected to be in early 2019. Please note, our travel stipends are partially tied to manuscript submission. If you do not submit a manuscript to one of the journal issues, then the maximum level of financial support will be 50% of your cost.
Britton Chance Symposium Poster Awards (3-5 awards)
Britton Chance Poster Awards will be awarded to selected posters.
Award applications can be submitted during the abstract submission process.
