OVERVIEW
The Complete Integrated Record using Comprehensive Electronic data (CIRCE) Project is an ongoing research project at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine (IRB #23-0741).
The CIRCE Project provides a clean, research-ready, and up-to-date dataset derived from the electronic health record of Penn Medicine. These data are made available to researchers, operational leaders, and clinicians across Penn's campus to facilitate collaboration and stimulate innovation. CIRCE also provides additional services such as:
- Weekly office hours with CIRCE team members, and regular meetings with the active CIRCE user base
- Support for grant and research proposal development for projects incorporating CIRCE
- Responsive infrastructure and services for data support and requests
The CIRCE Project was created by a group of Penn research faculty from the medical and nursing schools. Dr. Gary Weissman is the founding director and Principal Investigator for CIRCE. CIRCE is actively growing and releases new versions of the dataset every six months, typically in January and July.
