Our team includes clinician informaticists and data scientists within the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. We have a wide range of competencies and experience in clinical informatics, computer science, and data science. The scope of clinical informatics is vast and growing but we focus our efforts on developing tools and workflows around the needs of our colleagues and patients in cardiovascular medicine.

Director
Dr. Anyanwu is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine and a member of the Consultative Cardiology Section within the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine. Dr. Anyanwu also serves as a Clinical Informatics Manager within the Penn Medicine Center for Healthcare Innovation.
Dr. Anyanwu spends his clinical time caring for general cardiology patients in clinic as well as on inpatient wards at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Additionally, he performs and interprets echocardiograms that aid in the diagnosis and management of a diverse array of cardiovascular diseases. Dr. Anyanwu also has a strong interest in the potential for clinical informatics and digital technologies to improve the efficiency of patient care, clinical communication, and medical research and education. To this end he combines his medical expertise with his software development experience to design, evaluate, and scale digital solutions to common pain points for patients and clinicians.
Dr. Anyanwu received his medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency and a fellowship in cardiology at the University of Chicago Medical Center. During his cardiology fellowship training Dr. Anyanwu also earned a Master of Science degree in Biomedical Informatics from the University of Chicago. He is board certified in internal medicine and echocardiography and a member of the American College of Cardiology and the American Medical Informatics Association.

Dr. Denduluri is a Senior Clinical Informatician at the Perelman School of Medicine within the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Denduuri has over 17 years of healthcare domain experience in designing, developing, implementing and optimizing clinical information technology to transform healthcare for better outcomes. Dr. Denduluri was a Director of Medical Informatics at Allscripts Healthcare for 12 years. At Allscripts he lead a group of data scientists and researchers in creating longitudinal and evidenced-based informatics by harnessing the power of data/technology in leveraging electronic health data for translational research purposes, optimizing clinical workflows, improving clinical processes and clinical decision support making.
Dr. Denduluri was an assistant editor for two international clinical journals (Nutrition Research and Immunology and Infectious Diseases) and a member of several academic and professional organizations with over thirty scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals. He earned over a dozen Epic certifications such as Clinical Informaticist Certification, Clinical Research Informatics Core Certification, Clarity Data Model, Cupid, Cogito, Caboodle, Epic Clinical Documentation to name a few.
Dr. Denduluri has experience partnering with executives, physicians, research scientists, quality leaders and collaborating with multi-disciplinary team members in facilitating clinical research projects. His data management expertise and experience in SQL helps him convert large clinical datasets into meaningful insights.
Dr. Denduluri received his second PhD degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland, St.John’s, Canada in Biology/Biochemistry and completed his post-doctoral research experience in immunology and infectious diseases. He later obtained a diploma in Information Technology at Memorial. Dr. Denduluri obtained his first PhD in Biology, Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Microbiology and MSc in Genetics at Vikram University and Agra University in India. He is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and a Certified Associate in Healthcare Information Management Systems (CAHIMS).
Dr. Denduluri recently completed a Masters in Biomedical Informatics (MBMI) at the University of Pennsylvania.
