The Diab Lab is part of the Department of Otorhinolaryngology: Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania. We are a team of cancer biologists dedicated to the study of human papilloma virus-related head and neck cancer.
Our mission is to drive fundamental discoveries about the molecular pathways regulating head and neck cancer development, and to mentor the next generation of scientific leaders in a nurturing, collaborative, and inclusive training environment.
We use both human and murine cancer models and a combination of molecular, immunological, and biochemical approaches to uncover molecular mechanisms underlying head and neck cancer development, and to test and develop novel therapy regimens. We collaborate closely with the surgical arm of our home department to maximize the clinical relevance of our science.
