The Deenie Greitzer and Daniel G. Haller Associate Professorship

Diana “Deenie” GreitzerThe Professorship was established by Martin Greitzer in memory of his wife, Diana “Deenie” Greitzer (1937–2002). The chair was also supported by additional donors committed to supporting excellence in gastrointestinal cancer research and care at the Abramson Cancer Center.

Originally titled the Deenie Greitzer Gastrointestinal Medical Oncology Professorship, the chair was renamed to also honor Deenie’s physician Daniel G. Haller, MD. Dr. Haller is known as a nationally prominent medical oncologist who has exerted great influence in improving treatment and care for patients with gastrointestinal cancers.

Deenie Greitzer was an attorney in Philadelphia. Both she and her husband, now a retired attorney, contributed to the Philadelphia Bar Foundation and other local causes. In addition to the Professorship, Mr. Greitzer has created a legacy for his wife by sponsoring patient conferences and educational events.


Ursina R. TeitelbaumCurrent Chairholder
Ursina R. Teitelbaum, MD

Ursina R. Teitelbaum, MD is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine and serves as Clinical Director of the Penn Pancreatic Cancer Research Center. She is a dedicated GI medical oncologist with special interest in treating pancreas adenocarcinoma and leads the Pancreas Cancer Service Line at the Abramson Cancer Center. Dr. Teitelbaum graduated from Duke University with a double major in history and German literature. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 1999, and did her internship and residency in internal medicine at the Pritzker School of Medicine at the University of Chicago. She also completed fellowships in medical oncology and geriatrics at the Pritzker School. Dr. Teitelbaum has certifications from the American Board of Internal Medicine in medical oncology, geriatric medicine and hospice, and palliative medicine. In 2004, Dr. Teitelbaum was elected to the Academy of Master Clinicians, the highest award for clinical excellence at Penn Medicine.
