The Robert G. Dunlop Professorship II
The Dunlop Professorship was established in 1981, originally as a University Professorship, through a generous gift from the Pew Memorial Trust honoring Robert G. Dunlop, a celebrated alumnus of the Wharton School Class of 1931 and a long-time benefactor of the University of Pennsylvania and Penn Medicine. Through the generosity of Mr. Dunlop, the Professorship has since been designated to support the important leadership activities of the Dean of the Perelman School of Medicine.
A director of the Glenmede Trust Company, Robert Dunlop served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Sun Company from 1970 until his retirement in 1974. A Trustee Emeritus of the University, Robert Dunlop received an Honorary Degree from Penn in 1972 and was a 1980 recipient of the Alumni Award of Merit.
