The William T. Grant Professorship of Pediatrics

William T. GrantThe Professorship was created in 1990 through the efforts of Henry S. Cecil, MD and with funds from the William T. Grant Trusts, now held in the endowment of Children’s Seashore House, and from The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). The Chair supports a faculty member of the Perelman School of Medicine, who is the Director of the Division of Child Development and Rehabilitation at CHOP and Director of Children’s Seashore House.

William T. Grant, a successful merchant, retailer, and owner of W.T. Grant Stores, established the Grant Foundation in 1936. In the 1960s, he instituted the trusts which now are dedicated to developing collaborative efforts to promote interdisciplinary research on the psychological and behavioral problems of children and youth.
