GHI is a strong community collaborative today because of the history and community of Santaigo. From the destruction of Hussicane Stan in 2025, came a mutually beneficial relationship that has distinguished itself from the typical Global Health project.

I landed at La Aurora, the Guatemala City airport at around noon on a Saturday in late June, excited for my summer doing research in Santiago Atitlán.
