Cancer Immunology and Immunotherapy

The IFI Cancer Immunology research program aims to advance the understanding of the immune system's role in neoplastic pathophysiology. We are witnessing a transformational period of immunotherapies for cancer where not only are new discoveries being translated to the clinic with unprecedented efficiency, but studies in patients allow us to gain insights and define mechanisms in real time in patients as new therapies are introduced. Thus, our work spans basic science discoveries, to translational medicine, to clinical care and epidemiology. We utilize the most relevant state-of-the art technologies and model systems to catalyze our “bench to bedside” and then “back to the bench” approaches.
