AMP AIM - ELLIPSS
ELucidating the Landscape of Immunoendotypes in Psoriatic Skin and Synovium
(Now recruiting)
Type
Observational
Purpose
Psoriatic spectrum diseases affect over 8 million individuals in the U.S. and include a wide variety of disease presentations (different forms of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis).
The purpose of this study is to identify key actors in the skin, joints, etc. that promote certain disease presentations in order to characterize remission and treatment response. The team hopes to accomplish this by collecting many types of samples (skin, synovial tissue, blood, lab results, imaging results) from a large population of people with different disease presentations and different experiences with treatment.
Eligibility
At the University of Pennsylvania, we are only recruiting a certain sub-group of the larger study.
You may be eligible for this study if you:
- Have been diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis or axial spondyloarthritis;
- Have active disease (for PsA – active psoriasis); and
- Have eye involvement (called uveitis).
Participation
Participants who are eligible will be enrolled in the rheumatology clinic. The rheumatologist will conduct skin and joint exams on the day of enrollment. Within one week of enrollment, participants will be scheduled for an ophthalmology visit to assess specific aspects of eye disease. Participants will also complete questionnaires about their disease activity.
There is an option for multiple study follow-up visits, but only the enrollment visit is required. Participants may also be asked if they would be willing to give samples to the study, including blood, skin, and/or synovial tissue.
You will receive compensation for your time.
