PRONTO Study

Immunological Predictors of Response to Biologic Therapies in the Rheumatology Clinic

(Now recruiting)

Type

Observational

Purpose

People with inflammatory arthritis respond differently to treatment, both within and across different diagnoses.

The purpose of the study is to identify immune markers in the blood that may help define diagnosis biologically (rather than with imprecise clinical labels) and more accurately guide treatment selection.

Eligibility

You may be eligible for this study if you:

  • Have been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis or axial spondyloarthritis;
  • Currently have active disease; and
  • Are planning to start a TNFi.

Participation

Participants will be enrolled in the rheumatology clinic at the time they are prescribed a new TNFi for treatment of inflammatory arthritis.

We will collect clinical assessments (joint exam + lab results), participant questionnaires, and blood samples before starting treatment and again after 3-6 months.
