Visish Srinivasan, MD

Dr. Visish Srinivasan is a comprehensive cerebrovascular neurosurgeon, with advanced training in both microsurgical/skull base techniques and endovascular techniques to treat cerebrovascular disorders. A graduate of the combined degree program at the Drexel University College of Medicine, he completed neurosurgery residency at Baylor College of Medicine, and subsequently completed fellowships in both endovascular neurosurgery and cerebrovascular/ skull base surgery at the Barrow Neurological Institute in Arizona.
An accomplished researcher, Dr. Srinivasan has authored more than 150 peer-reviewed publications and will lead a new neurovascular innovation laboratory at Penn. Dr. Srinivasan’s clinical interests include the treatment of aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) and fistulas, ischemic stroke, intracranial and subarachnoid hemorrhage, and other cerebrovascular disorders. In addition, he treats less common neurovascular pathologies of the spine, including AVMs and arteriovenous fistulas, and cavernous malformations of the spinal cord.
Dr. Srinivasan’s specialties encompass diagnostic cerebral angiograms and comprehensive cerebrovascular surgery, including microsurgical “open” treatments, endovascular/neurointerventional procedures, and stereotactic radiosurgery.

Dr. Terence Gade co-founded the Penn Image-Guided Interventions (PIGI) Laboratory. The interests of the laboratory focus on translational research for the development of novel imaging approaches and advanced therapeutics.
