The Ortiz-Gonzalez Lab at Penn/CHOP focuses on translational neuroscience. Our lab is particularly interested in pediatric neurodegenerative disorders that are linked to the disruption of autophagy and/or mitochondrial function. We use primarily use patient-derived human cell models to examine the underlying mechanisms of neurogenetics disorders.
