Research

To provide the best treatments and care to patients with vasculitis, we need to perform research. To perform research, we need patients.

Because each type of vasculitis is rare, performing clinical research in these diseases can be challenging.  As a leader in vasculitis, we partner with patients and other scientists to move the field of vasculitis forward.  The Penn Vasculitis Center is the main coordinating site for the Vasculitis Clinical Research Consortium (VCRC), the largest multi-centered collaborative dedicated to research of vasculitis.  The Penn Vasculitis Center has participated in nearly every major clinical trial in vasculitis and has led many groundbreaking studies in vasculitis.  The Penn Vasculitis Center also conducts fascinating research studies on the genetics and pathophysiology of vasculitis as well as projects seeking to better understand the impact of the disease on patients.
