macOS Updates
Beginning Spring 2025, you will start getting prompts to keep your Mac up to date. For more info, see Nudge for macOS.
Due to the ever increasing threat landscape and for the benefit of the end user, PMACS network, and Penn Medicine and University data security and privacy, PMACS has increased its minimum macOS requirements. Networked Mac devices are now required to install security updates within 30 days of being released by Apple.
Nudge
To keep our MacOS devices up to date with critical security updates and enforce University and PennMedicine policy, PMACS is rolling out Nudge to managed Mac laptops and desktops. Nudge is a notification tool designed to inform users when updates need to be installed and provide instructions on how to update. For more information on Nudge, click here.
