How to Setup a Flickr Account

  • Go to Flickr
  • Click Sign Up
  • Fill out the form and click Continue
  • Verify your email by going to your inbox and clicking on the Confirm my Flickr account link sent by Flickr.

Custom URL

Go to Account Settings to set a custom URL.

Note: it can be set only once and cannot be changed later.

Add Photos

  • In the top menu bar, click icon for upload (cloud with arrow) to upload photos
  • Add photo(s)
    • You can edit the image name and add a description, tags, people, albums, and/or groups
    • You can also set the Owner settings with license, privacy, and content filters for each photo
  • When you are ready, click Upload # Photos button on the top right

Create an Album

  • In the top menu bar, navigate to You and select Albums
  • Click  icon with folders and a plus sign for adding new album in Flickr account (to the right) to add a new album
  • Add new album name and description
  • Select the photos you would like to add to the album

Add Photos to an Album

  • In the top menu bar, navigate to You and select Albums
  • Select the album
  • Click + Add
  • Select the photos to add to the album
  • Click Save

How to Get Flickr Account ID#

  • Go to idGettr
  • Enter the URL of your Flickr account and click Find
  • Locate your Flickr Account ID # below the search form
    • For example: 25461205@N04

How to Get Flickr Album ID #

  • Log into your Flickr Account and navigate to your album
  • In the browser, locate the album ID # in the URL
    • For example: https://www.flickr.com/photos/somiswebteam/albums/72157690048869372

Permissions Setting

Ensure all the photos in your album have their Viewing privacy setting to Public.

If a single photo in your album isn't set to public, your album will NOT show.

Note: The following steps are for accounts that have at least one album already created

  • In the top menu, navigate to You and select Albums
  • Select the album
  • Select each photo in your album to check Viewing privacy setting under Additional Info
  • Be sure that Public is selected
  • Click OK
