Recover Program Education

Team of physicians and trainees in the RECOVER program

To ensure that the field continues to provide the highest quality care to patients with disorders of consciousness, trainee education is crucial. We believe training in evidence- and guideline-based approaches to neuroprognostication and disorders of consciousness care is a foundational aspect of neurology education. As such, Penn's Neurology Residents are integrated throughout the RECOVER Program, in its inpatient consult service, interdisciplinary conferences and outpatient clinic, so that future generations of neurologists will have exposure to rigorous practices and to the spectrum of brain injury recovery. Trainees outside the field of neurology, including internal medicine, physiatry, emergency medicine, and anesthesia have also participated to gain more exposure to this field.

The RECOVER Program is also committed to promoting education through lectures to a variety of audiences. If you are interested in a lecture on a topic related to neuroprognostication or disorders of consciousness you may contact us.

In addition to providing training in core competencies related to neuroprognostication and disorders of consciousness, the RECOVER Program is also committed to providing more advanced education to trainees interested in becoming future leaders of this field.
