Trainee Affairs & Wellness

The Office of Research Trainee Affairs is committed to fostering the well-being and professional growth of our graduate students and postdoctoral fellows through the Trainee Affairs & Wellness initiative. This initiative offers programs designed to empower trainees, promote wellness, and build a cohesive community.

A cornerstone of this effort is the Building Agency During Graduate Research Studies (BADGRS@Penn) program. BADGRS@Penn hosts monthly meetings to address challenges in graduate studies beyond experimental work. The program also offers wellness activities such as stress relief workshops, crafting sessions, and yoga classes. Community-building events, including cultural holiday celebrations and welcome barbecues, are organized to foster connections and encourage cultural awareness. Additionally, the Office of Research Trainee Affairs collaborates with student affinity groups to support their initiatives.

We actively incorporate student input to develop new programs. If you have ideas that align with our vision, please email us at Research_Trainee_Affairs@pennmedicine.upenn.edu.
