Welcome to the Roulis Lab
We study the tissue microenvironment in homeostasis and disease
Homeostasis in mucosal barrier tissues is maintained through complex interactions between resident cell types, the immune system, and the microbiota. Our goal is to understand why and how this balance is broken at the onset of inflammatory, fibrotic, and neoplastic processes.
We focus on the biology of recently discovered types of fibroblasts, which occupy specific niches within the intestinal mucosa, have distinct transcriptional programs, but their function in physiology and disease remains completely unknown.
Join our team!
We are currently recruiting ambitious, enthusiastic scientists for postdoctoral, doctoral and master thesis research in our lab
