The Center for Data, Outcomes, & Team Science (CDOTS)

Collaboration is key to scientific inquiry. CDOTS is a working group of GI investigators that are working together make research data collection easier. The group’s objective is to build a data and regulatory infrastructure to facilitate efforts to gather preliminary research data for grants and attract outside funding. CDOTS looks to mentor trainees and partner with translational scientists to advance the clinical, epidemiologic, and health services research related to gastrointestinal and liver diseases conduced within the GI division at the Perelman School of Medicine. By leveraging large-scale electronic health record (EHR) data at the University of Pennsylvania Health (UPHS) to identify patients at risk for GI and liver disease, develop targeted care delivery pathways, and optimize evidence-based practices to improve health outcomes.
