Welcome to the Zamani Lab!

We are a translational cardiovascular research laboratory dedicated to improving outcomes for patients with heart failure, with a particular focus on heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF). Our work integrates rigorous human physiology, deep clinical phenotyping, and mechanistic clinical studies to understand disease heterogeneity, with a specific emphasis on exercise intolerance and the role of skeletal muscle in limiting functional capacity. Through investigator-initiated studies, clinical trials, and multidisciplinary collaborations, we seek to define the cardiovascular–skeletal muscle interface and translate fundamental biological insights into patient-centered therapies that improve exercise capacity, quality of life, and long-term cardiovascular health.
