Description of CVI Expertise

CVI Research Description:
My research interests cover regulation of ion channels, in particular, large-conductance calcium-dependent potassium channels, by oxidation and heme/heme catabolic byproducts and lipid messengers such as PIP2 and omega-3 fatty acids. Our goals is to describe the modulatory phenomena in detail and relate the biophysical and molecular changes to address integrative physiology issues.
