Pre-training Lecture: The next pre-training lecture will take place from 12:30 - 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 6, 2014 in room 1101 BRB II/II. Attendance at this lecture is mandatory for anyone who wishes to be trained on a Core confocal or deconvolution microscope. Email Andrea Stout before Monday, Feb. 3, 2014 to be placed on the list for the lecture.
Microscopy Interest Group Seminar: The next MIG seminar will be a joint event sponsored by all three MIG facilities (CDB Microscopy Core, Wistar Imaging Facility, and the PennVet Imaging Core): a research & development specialist from Molecular Probes (a division of Life Technologies) will be here to give a presentation on the practical challenges specific to imaging living cells and organisms under the microscope. Location: BRB auditorium. Date & time: Tuesday, Feb. 18, 12 - 2 pm.
EMD Millipore Live Cell Imaging Seminar: Daniel Kim, CellASIC Specialist from EMD Millipore will be on campus to talk about the CellASIC ONIX Microfluidic Platform for live cell imaging. This microfluidic chamber is designed to allow continuous perfusion of culture medium to cells while they are on the microscope stage. Seminar time & location: Wednesday, Feb. 5, 12-1 pm, room 253 BRB II/III. Hands-on demonstrations using the ONIX and one of the Core's microscopes will take place from 2-5 pm the same day.
