ATTENTION DNA Sequencing Facility Users:

Starting June 8, 2009, we will no longer convert ABI Sequencing files from Windows to Mac. The conversion needs classic environment in a Mac computer and newer Macs do not support classic environment (OS 9). Users can open Windows files on Macs by using sequence analysis software such as Sequencher. Sequencher is available as part of a software package from the Penn Bioinformatics core
at a nominal cost. Please contact us if you need any help.

454 Service News Update: Introducing Titanium chemistry (400b reads, 400 - 500 Mb throughput)

Roche/454 GS FLX sequencing service is now being offered at the DNA Sequencing Facility using both standard and Titanium chemistries. Users are requested to contact Tapan Ganguly.

NOTE: DNA Sequencing costs only $6.00 per sample for investigators at the School of Medicine, the Cancer Center, and the Genomics Institute. The turnaround is about 24 hrs. High throughput DNA Sequencing is done at 50% cost. We also offer bisulphite sequencing and LOH (loss of heterozygosity) analysis. Our latest offer is extraction of DNA from mammalian cells including ES cells, and bacterial plasmids grown in 96-well plates.
