Outreach
Dr. Duncan has a long history of K-12 outreach involvement and is dedicated to improving STEM education and increasing access to research opportunities for high school students. Beginning as an undergraduate student (and ongoing), she has been giving talks to high school students and teachers at workshops in conjunction with conferences, such as the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) American Control Conference and the IEEE Conference on Decision and Control. While at USC, Dr. Duncan established strong and active partnerships with Francisco Bravo Medical Magnet High School, Crossroads School for Arts and Sciences, La Quinta High School, Smidt Technology High School, Palos Verdes High School, and Marlborough High School and continues to give talks in a range of areas, including mathematics, neuroscience, and engineering, and encouraging students to study STEM and become involved in research at a young age.
