Immune Health Platform

Thanks to investments made at Penn Medicine over more than a decade — and accelerated during the COVID-19 pandemic — the Immune Health platform represents a major advance for the field of immunology.  Immune Health exists at the intersection of Penn’s world-class biobank and its pioneering bioinformatics, AI, and machine-learning technologies.  By harnessing the power of big data to analyze newly accessed immunology data points, the Immune Health platform is positioned to reveal the patterns and principles of autoimmune disease with a clarity never before possible.  Of particular promise is the use of biobank data to understand the genetics of autoimmunity.  The biobank allows researchers to identify and map complex correlations between genomic variations and autoimmune response, facilitating increasingly precise diagnoses and the tailoring of treatment options to each individual patient’s unique immune fingerprint.
