My love in pediatrics stems from my experience in child education—from helping a homesick child feel confident as a camp counselor to forming lesson plans that highlight teamwork and empathy alongside nursery school educators. Pediatric medicine offers a similar, highly individualized and collaborative approach to caring for patients that sets a child and their family on the path to long-term success.

My interest in pediatrics is intrinsically tied to my core values of patient advocacy and collaboration. Pediatric physicians have a unique dual role: they advocate for patients who mostly cannot yet fully advocate for themselves, and collaborate closely with parents and multidisciplinary teams to deliver the best possible care. The trust and teamwork required to support a child’s health reflect the kind of medicine I aspire to practice!

I've always found working with kids incredibly rewarding, whether as a camp counselor or science olympiad advisor! I’m excited by the opportunity to empower children in their health journeys, partner with their families, and advocate for care that allows kids to enjoy their childhood.

There is so much joy in being able to work with both kids but also families overall. It is also incredibly gratifying to be able to be part of such a critical period of growth and make an impact within that.

I took a long, circuitous path to pediatrics, ending up here at least partially due to my interest in imaging of congenital heart diseases. I think pediatrics is the best because it is wonderful helping kids get better while working with families who care deeply about their children.
