Organ Perfusion
Organ perfusion has become the most important advancement in the field of transplantation over the last 20 years. Placing recovered organs on perfusion devices or using perfusion devices to resuscitate organs in situ offers diverse benefits including improvement in organ function, quality assessment to avoid potentially unsuitable organs, and facilitating of scheduling to optimize flexibility in transplant timing. The net result is that many more organs are available for life-saving transplants.
