An Update on Penn+Box and Data Storage
Since the beginning of the year, there have been several developments regarding Penn+Box and data storage generally within PSOM.
Regarding Penn+Box, the University and Box have recently entered into a new agreement that will allow for a revisit of the storage limits that were announced at the end of December. While revised limits have not been finalized, more details will be shared as soon as they are available.
In parallel, there have been ongoing discussions about the need to assess data storage practices across the Perelman School of Medicine more broadly. To that end, a working group of PSOM faculty and IS leadership is being established to consider how best to address the current challenges and continued growth in demand for storage/compute services in a sustainable manner. Regular updates will be provided about the collaborative efforts of this group as well as Penn+Box as we receive the from the University.
Please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns.
