Jay Giri, MD, MPH is an Interventional Cardiologist, the Director of the Cardiovascular Catheterization Laboratories at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, the Founding Associate Director of the Penn Cardiovascular Outcomes, Quality & Evaluative Research Center, and an Assistant Professor at the Perelman School of Medicine.

His clinical interests include complex coronary artery intervention, renal denervation, venous thromboembolism, and aortic valve disease. He performs clinical outcomes and comparative effectiveness research related to emerging endovascular technologies and interventional pharmacotherapies as well as health services and policy research related to cardiovascular medicine. His original research has been published in JAMAJournal of the American College of Cardiology, and Circulation among others (Pubmed). In 2017, he was selected as one of 12 interventional cardiologists with under 10 years in practice worldwide for the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography & Interventions Emerging Leader Mentorship (ELM) Fellowship. He was the recipient of the 2019 Transcatheter Therapeutics (TCT) Thomas J. Linnemeier Spirit of Interventional Cardiology Young Investigator Award, given to one interventional cardiologist worldwide under age 40 for academic and clinical excellence.

Dr. Giri earned a Master’s in Public Health, and a Doctorate in Medicine from Northwestern University. He completed residency in internal medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital and proceeded to complete fellowships in cardiovascular diseases, coronary, structural heart intervention, and vascular medicine/intervention at the University of Pennsylvania and Massachusetts General Hospital.

Ashwin Nathan, MD, MS is an Interventional Cardiologist at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania and at the Corporal Michael C. Crescenz VA Medical Center in Philadelphia. He is also an Assistant Professor in the Perelman School of Medicine, and a member of the Penn Cardiovascular Outcomes, Quality & Evaluative Research Center. His clinical interests include structural heart interventions including transcatheter aortic valve replacement, transcatheter edge-to-edge repair, transcatheter mitral valve replacement, transcatheter pulmonary valve replacement, transcatheter tricuspid valve replacement, closure of atrial septal defects, PFOs, ventricular septal defects, and alcohol septal ablations. He performs outcomes and health policy research related to the emergence and use of novel technologies and pharmacotherapies, with a specific focus on matters of racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic inequities in care. He is the author of over 65 original research manuscripts, reviews, and editorials. His original research has been published in JAMACirculationJACC, and JAMA Cardiology, among others (Pubmed).

Dr. Nathan earned a Doctorate in Medicine from Harvard Medical School. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and completed fellowships in cardiovascular medicine and interventional cardiology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He obtained a Master’s in the Science of Health Policy at the University of Pennsylvania.

Kriyana Reddy

Kriyana Reddy

Kriyana received her B.S. in Applied Mathematics and Economics from Brown University. She subsequently worked as an analyst for a litigation consulting firm and a senior research assistant at the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. Her research leverages tools from health economics and data science to evaluate diffusion patterns of novel medical technologies and investigate disparities in cardiovascular care. Kriyana plans to pursue a career in medicine. 

Lin Yang

Lin Yang

Lin Yang graduated from University of Missouri-Rolla with a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics with statistics emphasis, Lin Yang joined Perelman School of Medicine at Penn as a statistical analyst in March, 2008. She has 10+ years of experience of data management on large administrative healthcare datasets such as Medicare/Medicaid claims data or insurance claims data. Her experience of statistical analysis is mainly on statistical modeling and reporting using SAS & STATA statistical software.

Kaitlyn Shultz

Kaitlyn Shultz

Kaitlyn Shultz is a statistical analyst with HEDAP. She has familiarity with regression and data mining techniques and SAS, R, and Stata software. She is interested in research involving improving patient and hospital outcomes. She earned Bachelor of Science in mathematics degree at Shippensburg University and Masters of Science degree in applied statistics at West Chester University.
