We welcome Dr. Deborah Minzaghi from the Medizinische Universität Innsbruck who joins our lab
as a postdoctoral researcher!
Kudos to Dr. Amy Campbell and Tori Lovins on their latest published studies illustrating a fantastic framework to identify traits that underlie Staphylococcus aureus strain-level variation in disease burden and a beautiful collaboration work revealing the influence that skin microbiota can have on the resolution of cutaneous leishmaniasis!

Qi Zheng’s paper (with co-authors Casey Bartow-Mckenney, Jacquelyn Meisel, and Elizabeth Grice), HmmUFOtu: An HMM and phylogenetic placement based ultra-fast taxonomic assignment and OTU picking tool for microbiome amplicon sequencing studies is accepted for publication in Genome Biology. Casey Bartow-Mckenney’s paper (with co-authors Geoffrey Hannigan, Joseph Horwinski, Patrick Hesketh, Annamarie Horan, Samir Mehta, and Elizabeth Grice), The microbiota of traumatic, open fracture wounds is associated with mechanism of injury is accepted for publication in Wound Repair and Regeneration.

Jacquelyn Meisel Ph.D. leaves the Grice Lab for a Post-Doctoral position in the lab of Mihai Pop at the University of Maryland, College Park.

Geoffrey Hannigan PhD leaves the Grice lab for a Post-doctoral position in the lab of Patrick Schloss PhD at the University of Michigan.

Lindsay Kalan PhD Joins the Grice Lab as a Post-doctoral fellow. Lindsay was previously the Head of Research and Development at Exiton Technologies, Inc. in Edmonton Canada.
Georgia Sfyroera PhD joins the Grice lab as a Research Associate. Previously Georgia was a Research Associate and L'Oreal UNESCO Laureate at National Center for Scientific Research Demokritos in Athens Greece.
Casey Bartow-McKenney joins the Grice lab! Casey is a Ph.D. student in the Genomics and Computational Biology graduate group at Penn.
