Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a common and often devastating health problem. Affecting over 2.5M individuals in the US each year, TBI is a complex and heterogenous disorder. Using novel and translational approaches we aim to further understand the detrimental acute and evolving neuropathologies of TBI, including pathological permeability of the blood brain barrier.
POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCHER: We seek a highly motivated post-doctoral fellow to investigate the mechanisms driving both acute and chronic outcomes following traumatic brain injury (TBI). See Open Positions tab for more details
Congratulations to Maura Weber and John Arena as co-lead authors on the acceptance of their paper “CLARITY Reveals a More Protracted Temporal Course of Axon Swelling and Disconnection than Previously Described Following Traumatic Brain Injury” in Brain Pathology!
AANS/CNS Student and Resident Award
Congratulations to John Arena on winning the AANS/CNS Student and Resident Award at the 3rd Joint symposium of the International and National Neurotrauma Societies Meeting, 2018 in Toronto!
