Our Models and Approaches

Our Approach

Murine Disease Modeling:

We generated and work with mice expressing clinical Surfactant Protein C (Sftpc) mutations to study the development and epithelial contribution to pediatric interstitial lung disease and adult lung fibrosis.

Murine SFTPC models of ChILD and Lung Fibrosis

Precision Cut Lung Slices:

We work with explanted fibrotic lung tissues and are positioned at one of the largest lung transplant centers in the country. This resource is readily available to us and allows us to decipher the multicellular orchestration of lung fibrosis.

PCLS lung fibrosis histology

Patient Derived Cell Modeling:

We work with Drs. Darrell Kotton and Kostas Alysandratos at the Boston University Center for Regenerative Medicine to develop and characterize patient-derived iPSC models of lung fibrosis.
