Event Overview

The Inaugural Sidney Kobrin Symposium on Humanism in Medicine is being held to honor the legacy of Dr. Sidney Kobrin, who died in a tragic accident in 2023. Dr. Kobrin was a friend and teacher, and a role model for how to give unceasingly and with complete compassion to others. This Symposium will allow us—his colleagues, students, patients, and friends—to celebrate Dr. Kobrin’s career and his commitment to humanism. Organized by Penn’s Renal Division and by its chapter of the Gold Humanism Honor Society, this event will contribute to the advancement of humanism within the Penn Medicine community.
