First Author Perspective

Alexander Gill was interviewed on his recent publication as part of a new feature of the Journal of Clinical Investigation website (www.jci.org) called "First Author Perspectives". This feature links interviews with the first authors of recent publications in the JCI to provide the trainee/post-doc's "down in the trenches" perspecitve on the published research. Questions range from impact of the research, challenges in the research, factors that contributed to the success of the research, and the first author's own training and career path.

Dennis Kolson Selected for MD-PhD Steering Committee

In 2014, Dr. Dennis Kolson was selected to be a member on the MD-PhD Steering Committee at the University of Pennsylvania. The Steering Committee is the core group that guides and shapes the MD-PhD program at Penn. The members are Drs. Skip Brass, Aimee Payne, Mark Kahn, Rahul Kohli, Jaimo Ahn, Dennis Kolson, and Ben Stanger, along with the administrative Director, Maggie Krall. The committee meets often to discuss all aspects of the program. Additionally, Dr. Dennis Kolson was selected to be a member of the Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) Executive Council at Penn.

ISNV Investigator-in-Training Awards

Colleen Kovacsics and Alexander Gill both presented oral abstracts at the 12th International Symposium on NeuroVirology (ISNV) in Washington, DC in the fall of 2013. For their oral presentatoins both Colleen and Alex won distinguished Investigator- in-Training Awards.
