Neurons R Us (NRU) is a service center provided by the Penn Medicine Translational Neuroscience Center (PTNC) at the University of Pennsylvania. The NRU has been supplying neurons for research to the Penn community for over 25 years.

Announcement
Price change effective July 1, 2024 for Penn/CHOP users:
In light of the continuous escalation of costs, we have refrained from increasing our cell prices over the past two years. However, recent adjustments to the university's salary structure and the rising costs of consumables have elevated our expenses for maintaining high-quality services. Consequently, we find it necessary to implement a price adjustment for our cell products: rat cells will incur a 25% increase, and mouse cells a 30% increase.
Despite this adjustment, our pricing remains highly competitive compared to commercial "frozen" cells and the overall expenses associated with maintaining an independent setup for primary cell cultures. This price increase will enable us to reinstate additional services, such as cells on coverslips and specialized dissection services, in the near future.
