REDCap Training

Reminder: Please complete the following training before July 5th 2022 - - "REDCap: Best Practices for Maintaining HIPAA Compliance and Protecting Personal Health Information (PHI)" This training is now required for new users at the time of account creation, and for existing users before close of business July 5th 2022. The training takes only 5-10 minutes to complete and covers practical ways to make sure any PHI entered into the tool is secure, access is limited, and inappropriate exporting is prevented. Once your account is created, OCR STRONGLY recommends you watch all REDCap Training videos before building your first project.

OCR hosts several REDCap training courses which can be found in Workday After logging in (using your PennKey and password), search “REDCap” in the “Find Learning” dashboard. Additional trainings (both instructor-led and eLearning) will be added soon.

Managing Clinical Data using REDCap

REDCap is a secure web application for building and managing online surveys and databases. The application is specifically geared to support online and offline data capture for research studies and operations. This session will focus on basics and fundamentals for using REDCap.

Managing Clinical Data using REDCap: Intermediate Training (Part 1)

REDCap is a great option for Penn Medicine clinical research teams to build and manage online surveys and databases. This training builds on the basics and fundamentals covered in the "Managing Clinical Data using REDCap" course.

 

Part 1 focuses on creating REDCap projects that use the system's functionality to adhere to data management best practices and HIPAA compliance. Part 2 will do the same, but focuses more on survey creation and distribution as well as safely exporting data and creating reports.
