Medical Legacy Circle
Membership in the Medical Legacy Circle (MLC) is our way of recognizing generous donors who have included Penn Medicine in their will or living trust, who have named Penn Medicine as a beneficiary of a retirement plan, life insurance policy or life income gift, or who have made a tax-advantaged gift of IRA assets by way of a qualified charitable distribution. Our symbol for the MLC is the thistle.
There are over 200 species of this thistle and given their prolific distribution it is little wonder that these plants have assumed symbolic meaning across numerous times, places, and cultures. In many traditions the associations are positive symbolizing such virtues as resilience, strength, determination, and protection.
