Michael Yao

Michael is an MD-PhD candidate at Penn and has previously worked as a research scientist at Genentech and Microsoft. His research focuses on developing interpretable and generalizable deep learning algorithms for applications in clinical medicine and radiology.

Alfredo Lucas

Alfredo is a seventh year MD/PhD student at the University of Pennsylvania from Caracas, Venezuela. He earned his B.S. and M.S. in Biomedical Engineering from UC San Diego, and his PhD from the University of Pennsylvania, where he developed and applied machine and deep learning in multimodal neuroimaging. He is interested in incorporating generative artificial intelligence to improve access to radiology and neuroimaging. Outside of medical school, he enjoys hosting grills and cookouts with friends, as well as playing the drums and collecting vinyl records.

Trent is a fourth-year medical student at the University of Pennsylvania from Richmond, Virginia. He earned his B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Virginia and is interested in applying engineering principles and emerging technologies to medical imaging to improve patient care and outcomes. Outside the hospital, he enjoys playing soccer, sailing, and painting.

Jennie Cao is a second-year MD candidate at the University of Pennsylvania with research interests in applying artificial intelligence to diagnostic radiology workflows. Her current work focuses on thoracic lesion detection and classification. Outside of medicine, she enjoys playing and studying classical music.
