**Research Presentations by current and past trainees are formal polished seminar-like Powerpoint presentations of ~25 minutes in length plus 10 minutes of questions for a total of ~35 minutes in length, regarding questions on dissertation research that will be critiqued and discussed; Literature presentations are ~15-minute presentations with 5 minutes of questions for a total of ~20 minutes in length discussing a single or maximally 3 related current literature reports of particular interest to SBMB. These will be selected by consensus. ; “What’s Hot” lectures are ~30 minutes in length plus 5 additional minutes for a total of ~35 minutes in length regarding questions presented by training faculty in areas of particular interest to SBMB; Past Trainee Research Presentations are on dissertation research by students previously appointed to the SBMB training program but not yet having completed their Ph.D. degree; Meeting Highlights are summaries of meetings that trainees have attended, each trainee is expected to attend at least one major meeting; Other presentations by outside speakers are 30 minutes in length plus 5 minutes of questions for a total of ~35 minutes in length.
