Research Interest

I am interested in the genetic basis of phenotypic differences across human populations, in particular the skeletal and cardiac traits. I study the role of population-specific genetic variants in heart, muscle and bone development using population genetic and experimental methods. My research will employ human induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSCs) of diverse genetic backgrounds as a model and differentiate them into specific lineages to understand how genetic (coding and noncoding) variations influence human phenotypes.
