Extension of Dr. Steven Joffe’s Appointment as Interim Chair of DMEHP

I am writing to inform you that the appointment of Steven Joffe, MD, MPH, as interim Chair of the Department of Medical Ethics and Health Policy has been extended for a year, ending June 30, 2021.
As you are aware, Dr. Joffe was appointed interim Chair during Dr. Zeke Emanuel’s leave of absence. Over the past year, Dr. Joffe has done an excellent job of maintaining the Department’s cohesion and teaching and research excellence. Under his leadership, the Department’s response to the coronavirus crisis has been outstanding – from sharing expertise and experience with best-practices for online learning to engaged scholarship that has had national and international impact.
On behalf of Dr. Emanuel and the department, I would like to thank Dr. Joffe for agreeing to extend his stewardship of the Department of Medical Ethics and Health Policy for an additional year.
